The scope of this project consists of dewatering the Moore Haven Lock and making mechanical repairs to the lock doors. Along with the fabrication of new components, ACT will sandblast and paint the doors. Environmental measures must be taken to ensure proper containment of debris on the project site.
 
 


Before the lock doors can be removed, sandblasted repaired and repainted, the water is pumped out of the lock chamber.

This picture gives an overview of the size of the lock doors. Here a lock door is partially opened and being moved off of its' hinges where it will be repaired.




This pictures is taken to show the general area of work and the size of the doors being repaired.

Here, ACT has moved the doors away from their hinges and is preparing them for sandblasting and painting.



Safety first. This worker is outfitted with fall protection while preparing to remove the wooden bumpers.

Large floating tanks like this one are being removed during the sandblasting and repainting phase of the project.
